Min Woo Hyuk (born September 18, 1983) has become very popular for his musical performances. He is an actor who showed his singing and acting skills through the live performances of the musical Les Miserables (sung in Korean). He was bullied by his former manager
In interviews, Min Woo Hyuk has commented many times on the subject of bullying and the fact that he was the victim of physical violence by his manager. The abuse was so bad that he suffered many concussions and had to be taken to the hospital many times. One example was getting hit with a beer bottle for being half an hour late to an event. The manager continued to use physical violence towards him which led to many bruises and cuts on his face. The manager did not allow him to see his parents for many many months. The manager is no longer in the industry but has never been charged for his crimes.
He wanted to become a professional baseball player
Min Woo Hyuk played baseball and wanted to become a professional Korean baseball player. He played under his given name Park Sung-hyuk. He stands at 187cm and was a pitcher. However, due to an undisclosed injury, he had to give up on being a professional baseball player which was also his father’s dream for him.
Min Woo Hyuk tore his ankle ligament on Les Miserables
Min Woo Hyuk hurt his ankle during preparation for Les Miserables. Doctors warned he should not stand for at least 6 months. He had to get ligament injections and rested for just 10 days before returning to the stage.
He damaged his vocal cords
He has done many musicals which had him singing very high notes. He naturally overworked his vocal cords. Then came COVID which allowed him to take a break. However, during his recovery, he was still not able to hit the high notes. This made him very fearful. Therefore, he practiced over and over again and recovered.
Min Woo Hyuk is a very good bowler
Not only is Min Woo Hyuk a very good bowler but he also has a professional bowling license. In addition, he is also a member of the 20th Korean Professional Bowling Association. He has even bowled a perfect game (300).
He launched an agency
Min Woo Hyuk established an agency called Leum Company. His wife, former actress Lee Se-mi is the CEO.
