Aegyo is not just for female K-pop idols. Male Kpop Idols have mastered the art of male Aegyo. Aegyo is a Korean slang that means to be cute and childlike. When compared to the West it could be looked at as “baby talk”. Aegyo is heavily used in South Korean culture and media. While many think it applies to females, it is not exclusive to any gender. Both men and women in Korea can express Aegyo in various ways. Mostly it is through words but it can also be gestures and facial expressions. Kpop stars and Kdrama stars often use Aegyo in interviews and sometimes in their performance. We gathered a list of male Kpop idols that have used male Aegyo the best. V (BTS) – Best Male Aegyo
Many call V the “King of Aegyo” and it is not hard to see why. He has a skill of using his tongue in a very cute way and when you add that to his sexy smirk, you have male aegyo at its finest.
Jooheon (Monsta X)
Many might feel Joohoney should not be on this list because he has stated recently that he has retired from aegyo. However, watching his many interviews, he just can’t help himself. On stage, he wants to be charismatic, but Monbebes feels that whatever he does, looks cute. So really it doesn’t matter what he does.
