Big Bang is managed by YG Entertainment and was formed in 2006. The group consists of T.O.P., G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, and the notorious Seungri. G-Dragon trained for years at SM Entertainment before coming to YG Entertainment.
When G-Dragon was seven years old, he performed in the group Little Rorra. He trained for four years at SM Entertainment. The agency saw something special in him at a very early age. His desire to be a K-pop star started very early. He appeared on a Kid’s TV program called “BBO BBO BBO” when he was a child. He was even a fan of BOA’s fan cafe!
Taeyang and G-Dragon were supposed to be a duo.
G-Dragon and Taeyang both joined YG when they were 11 years old. They were both seen in the old Jinusean video. They would be a duo, but YG Entertainment changed its mind and decided to put together a larger group. In addition, there were talks of G-Dragon having a solo career. “LIES” was originally supposed to be G-Dragon’s solo, but YG Entertainment ended up singing it as a group. T.O.P was rapping under the name Tempo in his early teens.
T.O.P. was an underground rapper who went by the name Tempo when he was in his early teens. He was even a member of Seo Taiji’s fan cafe and said he was one of his inspirations growing up. Many of the underground community friends still call him Tempo.
Seungri was originally cut from Big Bang.

Daesung was involved in a car accident on Yanghwa Bridge that killed a motorcyclist.
This was big news in South Korea, but the West might not know that Daesung was involved in a car accident that killed a motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was lying on the ground due to a previous accident. After hitting the motorcyclist, Daesung also hit a taxi that was nearby. Daesung was driving 80km/h in a 60km/h zone. Police investigations also showed that the motorcyclist had a blood alcohol level of .186%, and the legal limit is .05% in South Korea. Daesung even had to undergo plastic surgery due to a facial injury from the accident.
G-Dragon has his Fashion Brand
G-Dragon is very into fashion. He even has his fashion brand called Peaceminusone. Peaceminusone is a Korean clothing brand that began in 2016. He created the brand with the help of his stylist Gee Eun. It is a streetwear brand that consists of a variety of t-shirts, hats, and accessories. International supermodel Bella Hadid was spotted wearing a Peaceminusone hat in public. Peaceminusone has also collaborated with many big brands, such as Nike and Converse.
T.O.P. was only supposed to kiss Lee Hyori on her forehead.
The most talked-about kiss from 2008 was not even supposed to happen. T.O.P. kissed Lee Hyori on the lips at the 2008 Mnet KM Music Festival and almost broke the internet. T.O.P. mentioned in an interview that the kiss was supposed to be on her forehead. However, a minute before going on stage, the P.D. said it was changed to a kiss on the lips! It is unknown if Lee Hyori knew about this change.
G-Dragon and T.O.P. smoked marijuana.
G-Dragon was charged in 2011 with smoking marijuana. While his urine drug test returned negative, his hair drug test results were positive for marijuana. G-Dragon stated that he was given a cigarette at a club in Japan and thought it was a normal cigarette until he noticed it smelled different. The charges were later dropped since it was G-Dragon’s first criminal offense.
T.O.P. admitted to smoking marijuana twice before his military enlistment. He expressed deep regret for his actions. A police investigation found that T.O.P. smoked marijuana with YG Entertainment trainee Han Seo Hee on three occasions. He was eventually charged with using marijuana four times. T.O.P. got two years probation and no jail time.

Taeyang once went on a blind date with Girl’s Generation’s Yuri. A friend of his said he would introduce him to a girl and when Taeyang went to the meeting place…that person turned out to be Yuri. Yuri ended up inviting Taeyang to one of their concerts. They would call each other often, but it never turned into a deep relationship. They remain good friends.
